This is the heroic saga of an Acadian folk hero, Piau, who defies the British during the Acadian Expulsion by leading his people into a wilderness exile where suffering and survival reign, courageously capturing an enemy ship through stealth, enduring a humiliating prisoner of war camp and through a twist of fate, safely delivering his people to what he calls the Promised Land.

Bruce Murray is a native of Springhill, Nova Scotia, and the brother of singer Anne Murray. He has degrees from St. Francis Xavier University, the University of Toronto, and the University of Victoria. Bruce is also a former singer-songwriter who recorded with CBS and Capitol Records. He taught history and music for many years and directed numerous theatrical musicals during that time. Bruce is a direct descendant of Pierre Belliveau dit Piau.
